From Blogging to Books

About Abigail Barsana 

Abigail Barsana is a writer and creative living in San Francisco, CA. After graduating from SFSU with a degree in Journalism, she discovered the blogosphere and started GirlsAreTheNewBoys.com. Since then, she started a podcast under the same name and has been featured on others. On February 14th, 2023, she launched her first book, I'll Make You Feel Things, which is a collection of poems, short stories, and essays about how it is to be happy, hurting, and healing all at the same time. She writes with the intention to entertain, inspire and most importantly, let her readers know that they are not alone in their tragedies and triumphs. 

CHALLENGE

Abigail Barsana always knew that she would one day take her blog writings and create an amazing book. She started writing her book but needed help and more guidance on how to publish it. She also needed someone to hold her accountable. 

Objective

• Self-Publish  her book.
• Learn how to  build her author presence and brand so she can attract media coverage.
• Provide  valuable content to her audience, readers and socials.
• Be able to  reach this goal of hers and check it off her list of accomplishments. 

APPROACH

Abigail realized she needed a book coach to help her understand the basics of Book Publishing and help hold her accountable throughout the process. 

Abigail was introduced to the Book Publishing Academy by her friend who had already published her book. She knew she was in good hands and would have all the steps to get started. She started piecing together her blog writings and poetry and when she was ready, she reached out to Janine to inquire more about her services. 

Abigail consistently dove into the Book Publishing Academy’s program. She was extremely coachable and quickly implemented everything she was taught. There was a time period where she stepped away from her project because she knew she would do it on “her timing.” Once she was ready she came back with full force. 

Results

• Self-published her  debut book, I’ll Make You Feel Things.
• Successfully facilitated  a Book Launch Event surrounded with her loved ones and day one supporters.
