  About Diana Resendiz 

Diana Resendiz is a writer and mental health advocate based in Phoenix, Arizona. Born to Mexican immigrant parents, she began writing at a young age to express her experiences and navigate the complexities of her environment and identity. By sharing her struggles and triumphs, she encourages her readers to embrace their paths of self-discovery and prioritize their mental well- being. She dedicates herself to volunteering for various local organizations in her free time. She co-founded The Mental Chat, an online platform where she talks about mental health topics with her best friend. She is also the co-founder of The Maria Gomez DREAM, a scholarship established in honor of her friend who died of cancer. When Diana is not writing, she can be found crafting candles for her business, AquaMoon Candles. 

CHALLENGE

Diana Resendiz always dreamt about publishing her book. In fact, she thought she would one day write a manuscript and then get it printed at kinkos. She didn’t really know the process on how to publish a book the correct way. She started writing her book but needed help and more guidance on how to publish it.

Objective

• Self-Publish her book.
• Learn how to build her author presence and brand so she can attract media coverage.
• Provide valuable content to her audience, readers and socials.
• Put herself in rooms which would allow her to take his author business to the next level.

APPROACH

Diana realized she needed a book coach to help her understand the basics of Book Publishing and ultimately help her get started.

Diana followed the Book Publishing Academy’s Instagram page and entered a drawing to win access to our program for free. All she had to do was take a photo with our billboard to be entered into the drawing. Ironically, the billboard was 5 minutes from her job. She took her photo, entered the drawing and she won! She started piecing together her writing and became apart of the author family. 

Diana immediately took action and dove into the Book Publishing Academy’s program. She was extremely coachable and quickly implemented everything she was taught. 

Results

• Self-published her debut book, Postcards from the Desert.
• Started getting invited to events where she could showcase her book.
• She had the Book Publishing Academy produce a      documentary on her and her story.
